How much does it cost me to send a message?

Does sending Emails count against my message credits?
Email is completely free when using Message Center. You can even record a personal message and embed it in an email to all of your contacts.

What are the hidden costs and charges?
There are none. There are no setup fees or monthly surcharges. Once your quota of messages has been reached you will no longer be able to send any messages unless you purchase more message credits.

Will unsuccessful calls go against my message credit balance?
No, only successful calls are deducted from your message balance. A successful call is defined as a message that was delivered to a live person or left on an answering machine or voicemail.

How long can my voice message be?
One message credit equals one message on the pay as you go plan. Subscription plans limit you to two minute length messages.

If I pre-purchase messages what happens if I go over my message limit?
When you reach your maximum number of message credits no more messages will be sent out until you add more message credits to your account. We will send you a reminder via email when your account is getting low. For large campaigns and to avoid messages not being sent to all of your contacts then you should ensure you have purchased enough credits in advance to cover the amount of messages sent.

Is my credit card information kept secure? 
All payments are made via a secure connection (SSL) direct with our bank and we never store credit card numbers in our own database. When you close your account your Personal Information is no longer required for our purposes, we have procedures to destroy, delete, or erase it or to convert it to an anonymous form. Please see our Privacy Policy for further clarification.

How do I cancel my account?
You can cancel your account at any time by choosing Account Settings from the main menu within Message Center and clicking the "Cancel Account" link. Note that by doing so ALL of your information including contacts, messages, groups and any pending schedules will be deleted.

Is the information for all my contacts kept secure?
Yes, we do not sell or exchange any of your contact's information to any 3rd party. The information you enter for your contacts is kept secure and only used by our service for broadcasting messages. Please see our Privacy Policy for further clarification.

Since your service is so cheap do you use advertisements in your paid for messages?
Absolutely not! No advertisements appear on any outgoing messages for our paid for services.

Do  you have a referral or affiliate program?
Yes we do! Just refer someone to us and we'll pay you 25% of the initial revenue from the sale including 25% every subsequent sale for the LIFE of the customer. There is more information about our affiliate program here.

How do I become a VAR?
The more people that use our service the better! What's more, we do not charge any setup fees or charge for use of our messaging gateway if you which to resell message broadcasting to your own customers. We only charge for message credits and we offer competitive discounts for bulk purchasing of message credits. Using the Group2call Service

What is Message Center?
Message Center is a 100% web interface where you can manage your contacts, groups, message preferences, upload or create messages, broadcast messages, view your message history and much more.

What browsers do you support?
We support IE 6+ (version 7 preferred), Firefox and Safari browsers.

Does Message Center run on a Mac?
Yes it does.

Can I send messages in other languages?
Yes you can. In fact we can even translate your messages from English to Spanish!

Can I import my contacts and information from my own database?
Yes you can. Most database applications will have an export feature. Simply export your database to a text or CSV (comma separated). Then, download our template and open both files in Microsoft Excel and ensure your information follows the format in our template. Once done, save the file as a "CSV" file and use the Upload Wizard in the Add Contact page to upload all of your contacts. Is there a limit to the number of groups I can setup?
No, there is no limit and you can setup an unlimited number of groups. Please remember to give your group a meaningful name as the group menu on our Message Broadcast Service is built from the group names on your account.

Can I record and send my own message?
Yes! You can use our Message Broadcast Service to send and also record personal voice messages.

Can I upload my own MP3 or WAV files?
Yes you can. We provide the ability to upload both MP3 and WAV files.

Can I send a recorded voice message as SMS or e-mail?
Yes! We can automatically transcribe your voice message to text and send as SMS or as e-mail with the transcribed text in the message body and an attached link to the actual recorded message.

Which countries can I send messages to?
Group2call can currently only send messages within North America.

What about the Do-Not-Call List?
Group2call is not responsible nor does it work with the national do not call list, therefore it is your responsibility to ensure that the contacts are made fully aware of this service and that any opt-out requests are communicated to you. Once an opt-out request is received you can simply "deactivate" or remove your contact from your account.

How do I know if my messages are delivered? 
Within Message Center you can view real-time information on your broadcasts as well as view broadcast history and summary reports.

Can I put my own number as the caller id on outgoing voice broadcasts?
By default your account number is the caller id on all outgoing calls. You can also set the caller id, or block the caller id, for individual groups within Message Center.

Can I export my broadcast history to text or Excel?
Yes, you can export your voice broadcast history to Text, CSV or Excel formats.

Do you leave a message if voicemail is answered?
Where possible we will leave the message on your contact's voicemail. Note that depending on the contact's phone company some messages cannot be left on voicemail. This is usually due to unpredictable types and lengths of messages that some people put on their voicemail messages. We are however continually tweaking our service to work with different voicemail and phone companies. If you find an unreasonable amount of undelivered messages due to voicemail problems then please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

When I send an SMS message the message is delayed, why is this?
If you are using our standard SMS delivery service then messages may be delayed (although it is fairly uncommon for messages to be delayed longer than a few minutes).

What is a SMS Auto Responder?
An auto responder is a preset 130 character message that you can assign to a specific keyword. If someone texts that keyword to 313131 we will automatically send back to them the preset message. For example, instead of broadcasting updated news alerts to your subscribers, simply created a new auto responder keyword called "update", update your auto responder with your latest news then inform your subscribers that to get the latest news text "update" to 313131. 

How does your emergency broadcast feature work?
Group2call's emergency broadcast feature provides a simple way to initiate a mass broadcast with just ONE text message. Within Message Center you simply create your emergency message, assign it to a group of contacts then create a secret keyword. To initiate this broadcast at anytime just text your secret keyword to 313131 and we'll broadcast your message out as voice, SMS and email simultaneously.

Do you have an API?
We have two methods of API: HTTP Post, which allows you to send a message by using a simple URL or we have a Web Service which you can consume in your own applications. For more information see our downloads link for documentation.

Can I send an email as a voice message to a phone or group of phones?
Yes you can. Group2call provides an easy to use Email2Voice and Email2SMS gateway. Further instructions on how to use this are available on our online help in Message Center.
